Words Of Wisdom

One of the most important areas of self awareness is for us to realize that we either live our lives guided primarily by our emotions (being reactive) or by our intelligence (being proactive). When you live by emotions, you eat food that is not good for you, you lie to yourself, you cheat behind your own back, ultimately make bad food choices, and take actions to gain short term pleasure while sacrificing long term health, happiness and fulfillment.

From now on, for every food choice you make or action you take, first ask yourself. “Will this help me achieve my weight loss goals, or am I just acting out of emotion?” Then proceed to make the choices I have outlined for you in this book.

To succeed, you have to be disciplined. Nobody is perfect, and you might have a bad day or start eating a trigger food. Whatever you do, don’t let one bad day become another bad day. You must forgive yourself and continue your positive journey. We all know that losing weight is hard, but I live by the saying. “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.”

Losing weight is a marathon and not a sprint. Every time you resist eating something you shouldn’t, you are already strengthening your resistance muscle. However, every time you give in and eat something you shouldn’t , you’re strengthening your tendency to give in. If you want to lose weight and keep it off permanently, you need to strengthen your resistance muscle, and weaken your giving in muscle. Eating is not automatic, you can learn how to take control. Being in control of your weight is being in control of your life.
